The Green Zones Logo

From a Personal Journey to a Community Movement

The Green Zones started around 2016 as an individual out of passion, taking awareness sessions. Seeing garbage piles around, especially at many scenic spots, was heartbreaking. Remarks like "India is beautiful but dirty" became the deep inspiration for those initial awareness sessions and a lifelong mission to keep India clean. We officially registered as a Section 8 non-profit in 2023.

Our initiative focuses heavily on teaching young students good green habits, promoting cleanliness, reducing waste, and developing a deep sense of responsibility towards nature. The ultimate goal is to inspire the youth to become conscious citizens who actively contribute to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable India.

A Small Win We're Proud Of

Seeing students bringing plastics from home, neatly folded, clean, and dry, for recycling. This behavioral change from littering to actively recycling and reducing is our greatest success story.

What does "The Green Zones" mean?

The "Green Zones" is any spaces we reclaim together, where waste becomes purpose and students feel proud of their part to keep their neighborhood clean.
